The HomeMonEasy.com Video Streamer is a simple webcam software application that allows you to setup your video monitor webcams. It captures the video and streams it to the homemoneasy server. And when you log on to your HomeMonEasy Surveillance Dashboard, you are able to receive and view that live video stream. Download and install the web camera software, then click on the "eye" Homemon icon to start the app.
This application can be used to play back the videos that you record while logged on to the HomemonEasy Surveillance Dashboard.
The java "jre" has to be installed on your pc in order to be able to view your streaming video.
What is a HomeMonEasy "session"? A session is a running instance of the video streamer. It starts from the time where you set up your video monitor webcam on a particular target by clicking on the video streamer "start" button and ends when you close the video streamer. While the session is running, you can log on any time and from anywhere to your account at homemoneasy.com and view your live streaming video. Once the application is successfully installed, you may start creating video monitor sessions by double clicking on the "Homemon Video Streamer" icon.
Plug in a webcam into a free USB port on your pc. Double-click on the "Homemon Video Streamer" icon to start your streamer webcam software.
The Frame Rate control allows you to adjust from highest framerate(high bandwith requirement) to lowest(low bandwith requirement). The "Broadcast Bandwidth" window on the right gives you a basic idea of the amount internet bandwidth that your video streamer is using. Use your webcam software to adjust the video on the capture panel for best picture. Once the streamer web camera software is configured, your are ready to start your session.
Click on the start button to start your session. If there are no popup error messages, your streamer is now transmiting your video to your private session on the HomeMonEasy server, and you should be able to log on to your account at HomeMonEasy.com and view your session. As a test, you may start your browser, log on to your HomeMonEasy.com account and verify that your sessions are showing.Press the stop button to stop the transmission and the start button to resume. Press the reset button if you experience issues with your streamer. This will initialize the app and allow you to start over.
You may also create multiple sessions on one machine. Keep in mind that the more sessions that you create on a single machine, the slower it will run.
Once you have created your sessions, they will be running 24 hours a day until you decide to end them. During this time, you can log on at any time and from anywhere in the world and view those video monitor sessions. When you first log on to the HomeMonEasy.com Video Surveillance Dashboard , an applet security window will popup and prompt you to accept running the media display applet. Click on "Yes" or "Run" depending on the operating system. At this point, your sessions will be initiated on your browser, and your session names will appear in the section to the left of the video player. You can then click on the links to view the sessions. The HomeMonEasy.com SurveillanceDashboard contains several useful features to help give you the best user experience: Click on the Detach button to transfer the session playing in the main video player window to a popup player window where you can change the size of your video and view it full screen for instance. You can also "detach" multiple surveillance videos and view them side by side. Click on the Record button to record the video (without the sound) playing in the main video window. When this button is clicked, the video will no longer be displayed on the main video while the scene is being recorded. When you Click on the "Stop" button, the recording action will stop, and the video will display once more in the main video window. Once you are done recording, the recording will appear in the Manual Recordings tab of the recordings grid located below the media player. You can click on it to view your recording. If you had selected the "Turn On Video Recording" when your set up your streaming session, you will also see any motion triggered video clips on the Motion Recordings tab on the recordings grid. Any messages from HomeMonEasy.com will be displayed on the "Messages" tab of the grid. In the "Dashboard Settings" panel you will be able to set your email addresses for motion triggered email alerts. You will also be able to turn on and off email alerts and motion triggered video recordings.
Note: When you record a video monitor session, the video media file will be saved on the hard drive of the computer you are using to view and record the sessions. So it is a good idea to remove any private video files from that computer when you are done.
Look in the Messages section to view messages from the admin. The messages will be removed from the system after 1 year. Click on the Edit button to change your preferences. Upon clicking this button, the Email Notification checkbox and the Notification Email Addresses section will be enabled. Select the checkbox to enable motion detection messages to be emailed to you. Enter the comma separated email addresses where you would like the emails to be sent. Once you've changed those preferences, click on the Submit button to save your changes. Your changes will be saved and the preference edit fields will be disabled.
problem: When I click on any of my video monitor session links, the video doesn't appear, and there is no sound for my audio sessions. solution: First, Try closing your browser, and try again in a brand new one. If that doesn't work you might have a firewall turned on your PC. Shut off the firewall. If you still can't see your sessions, either your network's firewall is blocking the connection, or your video monitor sessions have not been created or are not running for some reason. Speak to your network admin about unblocking UDP media transmission and reception. problem: I clicked on one of my video monitor session links, and my video doesn't appear on the screen. In addition, my browser window seems to freeze up. solution: Usually this happens when you have a slow internet connection speed at the network where you are starting your video feeds from, and you are setting high resolution video sessions from that network. Since Those high resolution sessions use up a fairly good amount of bandwidth bandwith, you might not have enough to broadcast your video streams. It is recommended that if you have an internet connection speed of 1.5 Mbps or less, that you should only create low resolution video sessions. problem: I try to login, but the "Please wait, retrieving account data" message never goes away. solution: Close your browser, open a new one and try again.
